Day 106 - August 30th ... And we're in!

From the time time carpeting was installed, it took 1 week to get our walk through to make the punch list of items needing addressed. It then took 1 week to begin working on the punch list so that's why there haven't been any updates in a while. As of last last Friday, we were given the keys and went through our official closing.

Labor day weekend was spent moving. The heat was miserable but we made very good progress. Still tying up loose ends at our old condo but we're almost done moving the non essentials that were left behind. Thanks to friends and family that pitched in Saturday to help move the bulk of it!

  1. I can't believe you guys got in before us!!!

I love your house and I hope you are really happy with it. Does it still smell like paint and other stuff? The first sleepover at our place lead to some headaches, even with the house open and fans on!

    Congrats my friend!!!!

  2. Thanks JJ! The carpet had a stronger smell than the paint. But our weather has been good to keep the windows open alot and the smell has improved very quickly. Sorry you have had so many delays. That certainly kills some of the excitement of the process. Can't believe how much work there is to do now that the build is complete. The yard is going to kill me I think! If you guys ever plan to be in Northeast Ohio and want to stop by, we'd love to meet you in person and swap war stories!

  3. How sweet! I loved reading the blog. So much information... and to have it recorded adds to the precious memories you've made in the process good and bad ;) Your house is beautiful!! Hope you two and of course sweet Buddy enjoy making it your home!! It was a pleasure meeting you the other day, your information was very helpful for Scott and I. Thanks so much for sharing.

  4. Are you going to sum up your experience with Wayne Homes as you stated in this post? We are looking to build possibly with Wayne Homes. We have read several blogs but interested in what your overall experience was with them.
