Day 55 - Ceilings textured

2 guys textured all my ceilings today, including the garage. Instead of the standard stomp, we paid extra to get a "knockdown" pattern. Everyone does it a little different. These look good but the pics are hard to see and it still being wet doesn't help. I'll upload better pics when it is dry.

Cabinets showed up and are sitting in the garage. Interior doors are in the basement. Base trim is staged in great room.

Another "End-of-Days" storm came through today. I have a moat around my house right against my foundation wall. Once again (too many to count at this point), I went out and hand dug trenches to release water away from the wall. When the stone guys were working their footsteps packed the dirt at the wall so the water has a natural place to fill and sit. I hate Ohio weather.

Stripes on ceiling are due to wet/dry spots.

  1. Make sure to watch that peak in the sun room. The tape on ours was VERY noticeable until after the second coat of paint was applied and dried. It is still slightly noticeable, but we aren't going to fuss with it.

  2. JJ, the worst part of our peak in the sunroom is that is uneven at the wall. The block for the future ceiling fan is really crooked too but the drywall guy said the electrician can adjust it. Not convinced that will happen but will keep fingers crossed!
