Day 82 - I need more power Scottie!

And lo on the 82nd day we beheld all that hath been wrought and sayeth: Let there be light! And there was light. Our electricians have wired the panel in the basement and we checked all the lights and outlets in the house. Everything worked perfectly. Feels good to see the house powered up. Step 1 of operation Hostile Planet Takeover is complete! Now on to phase 2 (mwah-hahaha)!

 3 deer visiting
1st vehicle parked in my garage. I know what you're thinking. It IS a tight fit. Should have went bigger!

And now Buddy Bill's hogging up space.

Under cabinet lights working like magic.

 New great room fan.

Day 80 (August 4th)

Sunday has come and I spent the day doing misc. projects. Dug our hole for our mailbox and cemented the post in. Attached box at the end of the day. Mowed my yard for the 1st time. And by yard I mean thick nasty weeds that have grown through the mud over the course of the monsoon. I mean spring and summer. In the house I installed and wired all my under cabinet lights. Turned out perfect. Finished up by hanging a new ceiling fan in the great room to circulate some air in that large open space. Very busy boy today.

Look how nice the fire hydrant looks with freshly maincured weeds around it.

Now all the bill collectors have a place to send their hate mail. Awesome!

Day 76 - Trim started

We finally got our painting done to get some color in the house instead of all the beige that was included.
Trim guys started and got our interior doors hung. Not all have knobs installed yet or trim around the frames. They are coming back Friday to finish up. The electricians were back and got most of the outlets, switches, wall plates, and lights installed. It's really starting to look like a real house on the inside now.

Day 70 - custom painting

Just been been doing our painting this week before trim goes up next week. Our solid tops were measured yesterday and will be cut within a week or so. Installation set for Aug. 12th.

Living room / office has been painted a pastel green. Bright and cheery for Rene.

One of the spare bedrooms is painted a darker green. Picture looks much brighter.

Someone should be ashamed that this is all the pride they could muster in their work! Thanks McD-bags!

Day 65 - Cabinets installed and we painted colors.

Today our cabinets got installed. We went with Maple stained "Kona".
We were there painting colors over the standard beige.

Big Daddy rolling the entryway from garage after Buddy Bill trimmed the room.

Buddy Bill Trimming the accent wall in great room. Notice the OSHA approved use of his ladder.

Accent wall rolled and Petey looking dazed and confused... again.

Kitchen cabinets starting to go in.

Me putting 1st coat yellow over yellow primer in sun room.

Me and Cameron discussing how to make the wall cap look at stairwell.

My wife said she would paint the purple in the master bedroom. This is as far as she got.
(Actually I turned her loose with a roller later. She did her fair share for a newbie :)

Trimming continues in master bedroom.
My dad joining the fray - rolling 1 of the accent walls.

Mother in the kitchen. Can't wait until she can use it to cook dinner! (please?)

Sample of quartz top we decided to use in kitchen.

Wishing it was all over and ready for move in.
